AESCULAPIUS

is an association (in accordance with the law of 1901), bringing together schools, institutes and faculties of Public Health, belonging to the EUROPHAMILI and the applicant countries. The aim of the association is to promote intra-european mobility of public health professionals and health care managers, within a context of information and training, and to promote innovative products and methods in this area.

 

Medical University of Varna (BULGARIA)

is a higher school for training students and postgraduates as well as further medical staff qualification. The University is a modern institution offering teaching and research activities meeting the international standards. It maintains successful contacts and collaboration with a number of medical universities from all over the world.

Andrija Stampar School of Public Health (CROATIA)

was founded in 1926. It collaborated with WHO and other international institutions, organizing postgraduate courses in different fields of public health, attended by students from over 60 countries. The School is also one of the founder and active member of ASPHER. Research work has been carried out in the fields of social medicine, health ecology, environmental health, primary health care, health economics and management. Recently, the School has been active in management of the transformation of health care in countries of transition.

Institute of Public Health, University of Copenhagen (DENMARK)

was created in 1997 within the Faculty of Science and Health at the University of Copenhagen, it has responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of the programme "Master of Public Health". The Institute's missions result from training, research and expertise in all the disciplines which make up the field of public health.!n the field of research, the Institute had the task of creating a regional watchdog for population health and its experts and teachers work, on a continuous basis, alongside their colleagues from other faculties, using a multidisciplinary approach to the problems of public health.

E.N.S.P - National School of Public Health (FRANCE)

is a multivocational institution :
It is a Post Graduate Professional Training Centre with special areas of expertise in :

  • the management and audit of health and social welfare institutions,
  • health and welfare policy and public health methods,
  • the assessment and management of environmental health system risks.
It is a Research Centre with its three laboratories :
  • Medical information for management,
  • Health and welfare policy analysis,
  • Environmental and health care research.
The French National School of Public Health also carries out consultancy work in France and abroad being involved in cooperation programmes in many different countries.

Andalusian School of Public Health (SPAIN)

is a publicly owned institution based in Granada, mainly devoted to training consultancy, research and overseas cooperation. All the School?s projects ensure full integration of the public health standpoint into a clear view of health services management. EASP was set up by the regional government in Andalusia, known as the Junta de Andalucia, on 2 May 1985. Since then, the School?s portfolio of products has been in continual development and constant adaptation to the profile of each client. Health authorities from Andalusia, Spain and many foreign countries count among the wide range of the School?s clients, as well as town councils, professional societies, health care districts, hospitals and other public and private bodies. The School is a World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre on issues of health policy, health care management and primary care.

HOPE - Standing Committee of the Hospitals of the European Union (BELGIUM)

is a European non-governmental association, created in 1966. The Committee is made up of national hospital associations from the 15 Member States of the Union plus Switzerland, with Cyprus and Malta as observers. Through its multiple activities, inter-hospital twinning, organisation of the European health Agoras, professional exchange programmes and publishing, the Committee is highly committed to the promotion of hospital co-operation within Europe and to the development of social dialogue, supported by the European Union.

CUCES : University Centre for Economic and Social Co-operation (FRANCE)

is a training organisation created by the universities in Nancy around two principal functions: o The reception and support of adults returning to study at university. This role includes giving legal information and developing training programmes, validating professional certification, supervising and giving advice and support to graduates in order to facilitate the pursuit of their future profession. o Regional development, through training of local workers, the provision of expertise concerning urban and environmental engineering, town and country planning and cross border co-operation. Every year the centre takes in more than 2500 students for training and employs 60 permanent and 400 temporary staff, both professional and academic.

FHF - Hospital Federation of France (FRANCE)

is an association stemming from the law of 1st July 1901. Created 70 years ago, it is in essence federal and is based on the existence of 7 inter-regional Unions in France and 3 Unions in the overseas territories. It brings together around 2500 establishments, 1500 medical - social welfare and 1000 health, virtually all the establishments in the French public health sector.

Rennes CHU - University Hospital Centre (FRANCE)

has 2400 beds and 7000 employees, 1000 of whom are medical staff. All the medical and surgical disciplines are present and it has an annual budget of 335 million Euros. At the management level, the CHU has voluntarily taken on internal contracting based on a medical analytical accounting model.

CAWT - Co-operation And Working Together (IRELAND)

is a cross-border health care initiative initiated in 1992 with the signing of the ?Ballyconnell Agreement? between the North Eastern and North Western Health Boards in the South of Ireland and the Southern and Western Health and Social Services Boards in Northern Ireland. Its conception arose from a mutual recognition that, in addition to possessing a common demographic profile, the region in both jurisdictions shared specific problems, including high levels of poverty, isolation and peripherality. Within health and social care, it was felt that these would be best tackled through identifying and exploiting opportunities to work together in order to improve the health and social well being of the border populations.

Polish Public Health Association (POLAND)

has as its aim the promotion of Public Health in Poland and the improvement of professional practice in the sector within the framework of the future "European health".

 

ABH - Association of the Bulgarian Hospitals (BULGARIA)

The Hospital Association of Bulgaria (ABH ) was founded by the suggestion of 9 hospitals which were in contact with some Swiss hospital and the Swiss Hospital Association . At the foundation meeting which took place on 01 Aug .1997 in Varna, another 12 hospitals joined the Association. ABH is a non-governmental organization of state, municipal and private hospitals which are independent legal entities. The membership in the association can be active, associated or honorable.

The mission of the ABH is to unify and support the efforts and activities of legally independent hospitals in solving of the most urgent issues in the process of changing of the healthcare system and achieving of better quality of the medical services. The organization chart of the Association demands from the Association to assist its members in the development of professional positions, in propositions of participation in international and national programs, in formulation of statements on bills and propositions for legislative changes. The ABH programs contain projects of improving the effectiveness of hospital care, and stimulating of the effectiveness and humanity aspects of the work in the hospitals.
