ARH Bretagne - Regional Hospital Agency Brittany

is a regional public structure created in 1997. It includes professionals from the Ministry of health (doctors and managers) as well as-members of the French national health insurance Fund Its aims are -definition and implementation of the regional policy for the health system (irrespective to the fact that hospitals belong to the public or private sector ), -analysis and co-ordination of all the data related to medical activities in the hospitals (PMSI?), -Funding allocation to hospitals (the average amount is approximately 2 billion Euro per annum). The main tool to implement this policy is the contract passed between the ARH and each hospital.

Avranche-Granville Hospital Centre

is located in the Region of Lower Normandy. The centre provides health care and services for a population of 126 000. Due to the importance of the tourist industry in this area the hospital also receives a substantial number of patients from other regions and countries especially from across the Channel. The hospital has 754 beds and places divided up into two sites, including 360 beds in (medicine- surgery- obstetrics). Each hospital site has an Accident and Emergency Department. Gradually each hospital site has developed particular specialties. Thus Avranches Hospital deals with internal surgery, neurology, day surgery and Granville deals with orthopaedic surgery, and hands (SOS hands) and chest medicine.

 

Chamber of Agriculture

The Chamber of Agriculture is an organisation set up to help farmers in their profession. It offers advice and guidance on legal matters, production, technical aspects, and provides training opportunities to new farmers. The board is made up of representatives of the farming profession and the Chamber is present on national, regional and departmental levels.

Eugène Marquis Cancer Institute

is one of 20 centres founded in 1945 and now united in a joint structure, the National Federation of French Cancer Centres. Publicly funded and based within the teaching hospital campus of Pontchaillou, it brings together the resources required for its triple mission of health care, education and research in cancer. Each year, more than 2000 new patients with cancer come to EMCI.

Hospital At Home

A new health establishment called « Hospital at Home » was set up in January 2004 for the district of Rennes. It can cater for up to 30 patients, with 20 places allocated to cancerlogy, 5 to physiotherapy and 5 to obstetrics. It is a non-for-profit organisation and is situated a few kilometres to the south of Rennes.

The vocation of Hospital at Home is be an alterative to receiving treatment at hospital. It implements ways of graduating treatment between town and hospital, thus helping to reduce the duration of hospital admissions or to avoid them altogether.

Hospital at Home is particularly adapted to caring for patients with serious, chronic illnesses such as cancers, neurological or cardiovascular pathologies which require advanced and co-ordinated care techniques. Therapeutical progress means that today more and more complex treatment can be provided without the patient having to be admitted to hospital.

Hospital Complexe of Rennes

'went live' on 1st April 2001 as part of the government agenda to modernise the NHS and give power to frontline staff and services. Central Teaching Hospital of Medical University of Lodz

Central Teaching Hospital of Medical University of Lodz was established in 1985. There are 260 in-beds in 8 wards, and circa 70 thousand outpatient services annually. The Hospital has no debt in contrary to the majority of Polish Health Service Institutions. We provide cost controlling procedures, quality control of medical services procedures, we are monitoring patient’s satisfaction, all the labs and technical devices are certified and provided with proper maintenance. The staff are highly educated, there are continuous educational programmes for the doctors, nurses and the supplementary staff members.

Regional Office in Lodz

On the basis of the health insurance act on the National Health Found dated January 23, 2003 the insured have the right to health services. It aims to keep people in health, to prevent illnesses and injures, to detect diseases in their early stages. It also treats and prevents disability and limits it. Basing on this act, starting from April 1, 2003 the Lodz Regional Health Insurance Authority lost its law power and it became one of the sixteen branch offices of the National Health Found, having its main office in Warsaw. The activity field of the National Health Found in Lodz is:

  • organizing the contest of different offers, negotiating and signing contracts concerning health services;
  • to settle accounts with the providers who signed contracts;
  • giving opinion on the plans of the health services in order to protect the access to it and its continuity for the insured.

 

Regional Public Health Center in Lodz

Regional Public Health Center in Lodz consist of 3 sections :

1- The Section Medical Statistics, Analisis and Computer Studies- takes care of collecting, analisingn and working on the data about health condition and health needs of people in particular districts.

2- The Section of Health Promotion and Oganization and Control over Health Care

  • Health Promotion - takes care of country health policy within the domain of natiolal Health Programme and controls the usage of founds, collects and deals with information within the domain of preventing and curing programmes in general health care institution.
  • Care for Mather and Child- takes care of supervising the organization of health care for women in procreation age, their new-born babies and the health care for children, together with coordinating and monitoring the realization of preventing health programmes.
  • Organization and Control over Health Care- is responsible for supervising the controls in health care institutions in particular districts or for analising district consultants' reports in particular medical specjalizations, servicing teams of district specialist and preparing conclusions, together with checking the guality of health services done by helth care institutions.

3. The Center of Medical Staff Training- is responsible for orgenasing training courses for Medical Staff, in the system of post-graduate studies and specializations and the analisis of medical staff employment, keeping records of specjalists and those who run specjalization.
