European Network for smoke-free hospitals
Promotion of the policy for smoke-free hospitals taking into consideration the problem of tobacco addiction: genuine participation of all hospital actors and links with the urban environment. Funded by the European Commission under the Community Action programme for cancer.

Network for mountain rescue - border region
Set up of an alert network for mountain rescue for the areas of Canton du Valais, Val d'Aoste and Haute Savoie. Interconnection of the centres in charge of organizing the rescues.
Co-operation between the AZM Maastricht and the AZ Vesalius Tongeren (research) - Border Region
This project is included in the INTERREG III project "Cross border Health care in the Euregio Meuse Rhine". The co-operation includes scientific research.

Teleconsultation between the University Hospital of Lille and the private hospital "La Dorcas" in Tournai.
Cross border co-operation for patients suffering of chronic renal insufficiency - border region
Possibility for French patients suffering from chronic renal insufficiency and living in the area of Armentières, Bailleul, Steenvoorde (France) to get dialysis in Ypres (Belgium) and for Belgian patients to get dialysis in Felleries-Liessies (France).
Creation of a radiology telemedicine network - border region
Creation of a radiology telemedicine network. Ponctual relations, no formal agreement signed.
Cross border colaboration to compensate for the lack of medical equipment - border region
Collaboration to compensate the deficit of hospital beds (537:175.000 inhabitants). Agreement with Hirson (radiology), Fourmies (endocrinology, radiology, scanners, nuclear medicine), private hospital of Thiérarche (vascular surgery, ICU), Felleries-Liessies (rehabilitation), Pays d'Avesne (radiology).
Disability Prevention
Use of information technology for health risk appraisal and prevention of functional decline in the older population. Funded by the European Commission under the "Quality of Life and management of Living Rsources" programme.
