Creation of an Internet platform to train the medical staff to active environmental management in hospitals: e-learning, certification as 'Euro-environmental manager in the field of health'. Creation of a database dealing with the environmental and sanitary issues.
PAEDITOP - Promotion of Advanced Educational Innovations for Training of Paediatrics
Development of on-line, interactive educational and teaching materials for paediatrics professionals. Further development of an on-line area for self-analysis and supporting documentation on tutor training, accreditation and on-line training. Dissemination: 2 conferences on Evidence Based Child Health (EBCH) and on-line education. Financing: Leonardo project
QUESTRAIN
"Personnel Training Model for Integrated Quality-Environment-Safety Management System in Hospitals and Public Health Services". Development of a personnel training model and tool-kit on integrated quality, environment and safety management. Test of the training model with different staff groups. Dissemination through partner websites, brochures and seminars. Financing: Leonardo programme.
PLLC - Promoting Lifelong Learning in cancer for medical and allied health professionals across Europe
Through this project, improvements will be made in the treatment of cancer patients in Europe. Reports and studies suggest that the evolution of the illness for cancer patients varies between doctors, hospitals and countries. The aim of the project is to promote a more effective system of providing education through activities such as: - identification of areas of greatest educational need across Europe to work towards a common standard of training - development of a European system of accreditation for multidisciplinary Continuing Medical Education (CME) that will allow doctors to gain ‘Euro credits’ that will count towards their national accreditation requirements; - creation of a ‘needs assessment’ network and a database.
REBEQI
ReBEQI is short for ‘Research-based Education and Quality Improvement’. It is a three year project funded by the European Commission’s Quality of Life and Management Living Resources 5th Framework Program. The project has seven partners in six European countries (France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK). The objective of ReBEQI is to narrow the gap between research and practice by developing a research-based approach to Quality Improvement itself.

Development of a reliable and valid measure of quality of life in the elderly. Study of healthy ageing. Funded by the European Commission under the "Quality of Life and Management of Living Rsources" programme.
Workplace Health Promotion in Public Administration
Objectives of the project: -supporting communication and co-ordinating joint action between agencies and institutions in the field of workplace health promotion. -development of healthy workplace (focusing on public administrations) -Implementation of strategies at the regional, national and European levels. Funded by the European Commission under the programme fo Health Promotion.
Transparency of costs of cross-border hospital care - Border Region
This project is included in the INTERREG III project "Cross border health care in the Euregion Meuse Rhine". The differences in the hospitals financing systems and the charges are a source of difficulty for cross border care and patients' mobility. A study on costs and financing sources will be made for 5 treatments inn 3 university hospitals and several non-university hospitals. This project should lead to recommendations for uniformisation in the financing systmem.
Transfer of Expertise on rare metabolic diseases in adults
Improvement and dissemination of expert knowledge on patients with rare metabolic diseases requiring treatment in adulthood. Training meeting organised for EU professionals treating adult patients in this field. Publication of the results through paper, CD-roms and Internet. Supported by the Community Action programme on 'Rare Diseases'.
Training in physiotherapy Strasbourg-Ortenau - border region
Agreement between the University Hospital of Strasbourg and the Massage Schule of Ortenau to organize student trainings in physiotherapy.
