Chondral and osseous tissue engineering
Development of innovative therapeutic methods for the treatment of degenerative joint cartilage damage and bone loss in the elderly using the novel technology of tissue engineering. Funded by the Europpean Commission under the "Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources" programme.
Co-ordination of the collection of information and data and improvement of the quality and representativeness of the data
Improvement of the quality of the data by the development of a European injury model. -Definition of severe & less severe injuries to put a greater emphasis on severe injuries, -Mapping and quantification of the problem, -Setting up of a model to calculate incidence rates for injuries in the EU, -Dissemination. Supported by the the Community action programme for injury prevention of the European Commission.

Referral of patients to one of the hospitals in case of a lack of beds (high variation over time).

Joint research projects focusing on aids treatment in 1997 and 1998. Presentation of the results in congress in Athens and Nicosia.

Improvement of knowledge and co-operation on HIV/AIDS prevention & intervention activities toward a specific target group. Funded by the European Commission - Public health projects (Communicable diseases).
Compulsory Admission and Involuntary Treatment of Mentally Ill Patients
This project aims at gathering and analysing information about the differences and similarities of rules for compulsory admission of mentally ill patients. Funded by the European Commission under the programme for Health Promotion.
