Setting up of a GEIE in Thiérarche - France/Belgium Border region
Setting up of a GEIE (European Group of Economic Interest) in order to study a co-operation between the hospitals of Hirson and Chimay. Standardization of management of occupational exposure to HIV/blood-borne
Aim: Rational management of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens in health care workers (HCW), specifically concerning antiretroviral post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Implementation of standardized protocols to monitor occupational exposures to blood-borne pathogens, to educate HCW in preventing occupational exposures and in reporting those which occur, and to guide post-exposure management including prophylaxis and follow up. European Commission fundings.
