Background



Ralph was educated at the Universities of Kent and Cambridge. He is Senior Lecturer in Law in the University of Nottingham, where he has worked since 1990. He specialises in health care law, especially mental health law, family law and jurisprudence. His book Mental Health Law, Policy and Practice (co-authored with Dr Peter Bartlett) was published in 1999, and will go into a second edition in 2003. Ralph has also written many articles on his specialist subjects.
